Dear visitors, welcome to our island Menorca!

Welcome, everyone!

We open our lives to welcome the many tourists who visit us. The open doors of our communities greet you with joy and offer spaces to celebrate faith and live in fraternity. This time of rest becomes an opportunity for spiritual growth. Welcome, then, to Menorca.

The deep Christian roots of our island have taken hold in in many cultural expressions that shape daily life: architecture, music, literature, popular festivals…all reveal a visible and vibrant spirituality that is part of our identity.

Your visit enriches us both humanly and spiritually. Your participation and integration in our communities help us resist the temptation to relax our commitments during the summer. Your faithfulness and perseverance throughout the holidays strengthen the seriousness of our commitments.

I would also like to acknowledge the many workers in the service sector who go above and beyond to care for our visitors. Your long working hours often prevent regular religious practice. Your participation in celebrations, even if sporadic, always brings us joy. Remember that faith and prayer help us strengthen our sense of purpose, remind us we are not alone, and help us overcome difficulties. In our communities, you will always find comfort and support.

May the intercession of our Patroness, the Virgin of Monte Toro, help you continue walking with hope throughout the tourist season.

+ Gerard, bishop of Menorca
